For adults in Blackpool whose body still reacts as if the past is happening now, I offer one‑to‑one, trauma‑focused hypnotherapy sessions.
This is gentle, conversational work that involves your unconscious mind and nervous system, so change can reach the level where those fast, automatic reactions live rather than staying as “head knowledge”.
What this work can help with
- Feeling on edge or over‑alert even when nothing bad is happening now
- Sudden rushes of panic, dread or shame that don’t match the current situation
- Flashbacks, intrusive images or body memories of past events
- Going numb, checked‑out or disconnected around certain people or places
- Long‑running patterns like people‑pleasing or over‑controlling that began as ways to stay safe
How I use hypnotherapy with trauma
Rather than pushing you to “revisit” everything or relive events in detail, we work at the pace your system can genuinely handle.
I’m also an Advanced Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) practitioner, and where appropriate, I may draw on this brief, eye-movement-based approach to help shift the emotional charge around difficult memories and old protective patterns.
Using Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP, we create experiences where your unconscious mind can separate genuine threat from old alarm signals, so your body can start to realise that those situations are over and you are safer n
In practice, this can include:
- Tracking how your body does its trauma response, step by step, and gently interrupting that pattern so it can complete differently
- Using stories, metaphors and imagery that fit your life so new options feel natural rather than forced
- Helping the protective parts of you update, so they don’t have to keep working so hard in everyday situations
Where sessions take place
Sessions are in person at my Blackpool therapy room, with options for online work if you live elsewhere on the Fylde Coast or can’t travel.
We decide together how frequently to meet, based on how your system responds and what feels sustainable in real life.
If this sounds like you
If you recognise that you’ve already done a lot of work in other therapies, but your body still reacts as if the past is happening now, we can explore this in the first session.
You’re welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange an initial appointment; there’s no pressure to commit beyond what genuinely feels right for you.
